three weeks= lots of happenings!!

right before the race!
Wow, so much has happened since I last posted! Crazy month, crazy year, crazy life!! First off, I got a membership at our local gym, and let me tell you.....I LOVE it! If going to a gym can be addictive, then I'm addicted. Who would've thought actually GOING somewhere to workout would be more fun then doing it in your own house?! Goodbye for now Tony! I'll still see you a few times a week for ab ripper and plyo:)

Secondly, I ran a 5k! My first "official" race. I've signed up for and PLANNED to run more than a handful of races in the past few years but something always seems to come up. Shin fracture, flooding, moving, sickness, forgetfulness. You name it, it probably happened. But this time, even though we got lost a few times, i finally made it! AND got second place in my age group, not too shabby if I do say so myself haha.

I love runs that go so perfectly and so smoothly that they get you super psyched about running all over again! Today's run was just like that, 8 miles in 1:14. That's fast for me! I'm usually in the 1:20 range, so seeing 6 minutes shaved off made me hoop and holler like nobody's business!! Half-marathon here i come!!

Mickey D's strikes again!!

What is it with McDonald's these days? In the past year or so they've come up with some of the most irresistible, addictive, down right awesome drinks! Now the food i could pass up without thinking twice, but those McCafe beverages...I'm lovin' it too much! First it was the $1 drinks; any size for buck, how can you beat that?! Finally got off cokes and along came the SMOOTHIES! Sounds healthier. But it ain't. And then there was the frappe's-caramel or mocha, I didn't care, just let me have it! Finally weaned myself off those (mostly because they weren't on the dollar menu, and I'm a lover of dollar menus!), and now.....now they came up with the most wicked of all.....the frozen strawberry lemonade! Can you say amazingness in a cup? and to make it even better (or worse?) it's only a dollar. And being on the dollar menu makes it dangerous. I don't even want to look at how much sugar is in that thing OR how many calories they packed in there! "Ignorance is bliss is" in this case, and for the time being i'm sticking to that! Ooooh that makes me feel like a rebel!

Anywho, day 3 went great as far as the workout goes.... eating right, not so much. But hey, it could have been worse and there's always tomorrow!!

hate it but I love it...

On the ab ripper video, right before it starts, Tony does a little pep talk thing and says "THIS is ab ripper x! I hate it, but I love it." That's exactly how I feel about plyometrics!! It's fun. Its fast paced. And it's just fun to jump around without feeling overly ridiculous. But, on the hate side.... I rain sweat like a water fountain ( but I kinda like to sweat.... I know, weird!), legs burn like fire ( but it's kind of a nice burn...), and sometimes it's hard to get enough oxygen in the lungs. So i guess there's more pros thanks cons! And today was especially more on the pro- side because my brother and sister joined me! Working out with other people is so much more fun than doing it by yourself. Sort of makes it more like a party!

So that wraps up day 2! Day three, BRING IT!!

A Video is Always Good, Right?

"What? Two posts in one day?! Come on now don't get all crazy with this...." Don't worry, I said the same thing to myself before I uploaded this video. But it's ok! We're just going to break a few blogger rules today, no worries.

So, like it says in the video, I thought it might be easier to just talk to myself instead of write to myself! I'm a better at talking than I am writing. So I thought I'd give it a shot! Day 1 of round two was good, feels good to be hanging out with my "boyfriend-in-a-box" (aka Tony Horton) again. Believe it or not, when you spend over an hour a day with a person, ya'll start to get pretty close....and after 90+ days you can believe that me and Mr. Tony are pretty tight now haha. Anyways here's a pre and post workout/run video....just because I though it might help keep me motivated later on. Like IF I happen to start wanting to quit.

Day 1 of Round 2 Goals

Ok, well I'm fixing to start my first day of my second round of p90x (yay!). That means today is Chest&back and ab ripper. Goal for p90x today: push as hard as I can the entire time.

I'm in the middle of training for a half-marathon (again!), and this week is a recovery week. So today is a nice'n easy 4 miles. Today's running goal: take it easy and enjoy the scenery!

And last goal for today, NO SUGAR OR SOFTDRINKS!!!!!!
